Rules, safeguards and data protection

The AfroSwissters talent pool is free and works only with consent. These rules apply to everyone involved: the people in the pool, employers and our team.

Version 1 · 4 November 2026 · contact@afroswissters.ch

In short

Free for everyoneNo fees, and no money or other benefit for AfroSwissters from introductions.
Your choice, step by stepJoining, being shared and being introduced are three separate choices.
Your name only with your signatureAn employer gets your name only with your signed consent for that one role.
No public databaseProfiles are never published. Only verified employers receive them, by email.
01What the talent pool isA free service of the association: we match roles with profiles and introduce people who agree.

A free service of the AfroSwissters association. People who built a Capability Passport with Beyond the CV can join. When a verified employer tells us about a role, we match it with the profiles in the pool and introduce the people who fit, if they agree.

It is not a commercial recruitment agency. Nobody pays, and we don’t promise jobs.

02Free, with no money attachedNo fees, and no money or other benefit for AfroSwissters from introductions.
  • No fees for people in the pool or for employers.
  • AfroSwissters accepts no payment, refund of expenses or other benefit for an introduction or a hire.
  • Donations, grants and sponsorship support the association as a whole. They are never linked to introductions, to access to profiles or to hiring outcomes.
  • We do appreciate it when people become members of AfroSwissters: it supports our work. Membership is voluntary. You don’t need it to join the pool or to receive profiles, and it never affects who is suggested or introduced.
03Separate choices, one at a timeReflect, join, be shared, be introduced: each step is your own choice.
  1. Reflect. Beyond the CV runs in your browser. Nothing is sent to anyone.
  2. Join. You send the part of your passport made for sharing to the AfroSwissters team. You agree that we keep it for 12 months, match it with opportunities and contact you when one fits.
  3. Be shared. Only if you choose it: we may send your profile without your name, photo or contact details to a verified employer, for a specific role.
  4. Be introduced. Your name and contact details go to an employer only with your signed consent for that one introduction. No box you tick on the website does this.

You can withdraw any of these choices at any time, without giving reasons: contact@afroswissters.ch.

04What is never sharedPrivate answers, sensitive data, names and photos stay out.
  • Your answers in Beyond the CV about life experiences, what makes things harder, what supports you and how you meet change. They never leave your browser.
  • Sensitive personal data, such as health, religion or beliefs, ethnic origin or political views. If a profile contains such details, we remove them before it goes anywhere.
  • Names, photos, ages and contact details are never part of an anonymous profile.
05Verified employers and their rulesWho can receive profiles, and the rules they agree to.

Who can receive profiles

  • An organisation we can find in the Swiss UID register, or a public body.
  • A named contact person with a work email address.
  • A real, current role, described in writing.
  • Agreement to the rules below.

Rules for employers

  • Use profiles only for the role you described, and only within the team involved in hiring.
  • Don’t forward profiles, copy them into other systems or databases, or try to find out who a person is.
  • Contact a person only through AfroSwissters until they have agreed to an introduction.
  • Delete the profiles and contact details you received when the process ends, unless the person agrees otherwise.

We may decline a request or end the cooperation if these rules are not followed. Employers can’t browse or search the pool. If we ever offer that, it will only be for verified employers with their own login, after a data protection impact assessment, and we will update these rules first.

06How matching worksSkills-based suggestions, checked by a person. No scores, no automatic rejections.

We match profiles with roles on skills (ESCO terms and how they are evidenced), the kind of opportunity, region, workload, languages and availability. Matching only suggests: nobody is rejected automatically, nobody gets a score, and the private answers and sensitive data are never used. A person at AfroSwissters checks every match before a profile is shared. The employer runs its own selection process and makes its own decisions.

Your rights

08Before introductions startNothing is shared until the canton has confirmed and our impact assessment is done.

We start sending profiles to employers only when both of these are in place:

  • Written confirmation from the Canton of Zürich that this free service needs no placement licence.
  • A data protection impact assessment of the talent pool.

Until then, you can join the pool and employers can tell us about roles, but nothing is shared. We will update this page when introductions start.

09Responsibility and changesThe board is responsible; we review the rules every year.

The board of AfroSwissters is responsible for the talent pool and these rules. Questions, concerns and complaints go to contact@afroswissters.ch.

We review these rules every year and whenever the law changes. Changes are published here with a new version date. If a change affects what is shared about you, we ask you again before it applies.

11Legal basisThe laws and official guidance these rules follow.

Checked November 2026. This page explains how we work; it is not legal advice.

Federal Act on Employment Services and the Hiring of Services (AVG), SR 823.11

Placement needs a cantonal licence when it happens regularly and for payment (Art. 2). The talent pool is free and AfroSwissters takes no payment of any kind for it.

Ordinance on Employment Services and the Hiring of Services (AVV), SR 823.111, Art. 19

Data about jobseekers may be processed and passed on only with their consent; data that does not reveal who someone is may go to potential employers. The consent must be given in writing and can be withdrawn at any time. This is why names go out only with a signed form.

Key terms

Hover over or tap a term to see what it means.

AVGThe Swiss Federal Act on Recruitment and the Hiring Out of Staff. A licence is needed for regular placement for a fee. Before any profile goes out, the Canton of Zürich has to confirm in writing that our free introductions need none.

Art. 19 AVVThe rule in the Recruitment Ordinance on personal data: anonymous profiles may be shared with possible employers; names and contact details only with the person’s written consent.

FADPThe Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection, in force since 1 September 2023. It sets the rules for how personal data may be processed in Switzerland.

DPIAData protection impact assessment: a written check of the risks of a processing activity and how they are reduced. We complete it before introductions start.

UID registerThe Swiss register of business identification numbers (uid.admin.ch). We use it to check that an employer really exists.

ESCOThe European classification of skills, competences and occupations. We use its terms so skills are described the same way in every profile.

Anonymous profileA profile without name, photo, age, contact details or anything else that identifies the person: skills, experience, languages, region and availability.

Verified employerAn organisation in the UID register or a public body, with a named contact person using a work email and a real role described in writing.

Written consentA signed consent for one specific introduction: which organisation, which role. Without it, we never share a name.

FDPICThe Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner: the Swiss authority that supervises data protection and receives reports.
