AfroSwissters Ancestor Circle with Jane and Lys Silva
26 July 2026 · Tellstrasse 10
Dear AfroSwissters Community,
We are delighted to invite you to the very first Ancestor Circle—an intimate culinary gathering celebrating food, memory, culture, and connection.
On Sunday, 26 July 2026, 13:00– 17:00, we welcome Chef Jane Silva, joining us from Brazil, together with her daughter Lys Silva (AfroSwissters) for a unique afternoon where stories are shared around the table and ancestry is experienced through flavour, conversation, and community.
3 Course Meal
More than a meal, the Ancestor Circle is an opportunity to slow down, reflect, and connect across generations. Together, we will enjoy authentic Brazilian cuisine while exploring the traditions, memories, and cultural journeys that shape who we are.
Whether your roots are in Africa, Europe, Latin America, Asia, or elsewhere, this gathering welcomes everyone with curiosity, warmth, and openness.

Welcoming, Jane Silva
Joining us from Brazil, the lovely Chef Jane Silva brings an intergenerational presence rooted in lived experience, memory, and cultural continuity.
With years commanding her own restaurant in São Paulo (Toco Cozinha), she now brings her flavours to Switzerland.
At this event, ancestry will be experienced through food, colour, music and culture.
Hosted by Lys Silva
She creates spaces for reflection, expression, and connection across identity and experience.
What to Expect (Food Edition)
Family & Children Welcome
This gathering is intentionally open across generations. Families are warmly invited, and children are very welcome.
Food, memory, and culture are often first experienced in family settings — and this circle honours exactly that. Whether you come alone, with friends, or with loved ones, the space is designed to feel inclusive, grounded, and accessible for all ages.
