Honouring lineage, memory, and the people who came before us.
Ancestor Circle is an intimate AfroSwissters gathering for reflection, storytelling and shared presence. Together, we make space for family histories, cultural memory, food, names, rituals, silences, grief, gratitude and the many ways lineage lives through us.
This is not a religious format and not a performance space. It is a careful circle where participants are invited to reflect on where they come from, what they carry, what they are healing, and what they want to pass on.
The circle runs as a recurring AfroSwissters format, with dates announced individually rather than on a fixed schedule. Each edition is shaped around a specific theme, host or setting.
The gathering may include guided reflection, conversation, storytelling, grounding exercises, shared food or cultural memory prompts. Participants may be invited to bring a memory, a name, an object, a photograph, a song, a recipe or simply themselves.
You do not need to have a clear story or know your full family history to attend. The circle is for anyone who wants to approach lineage, ancestry and memory with care.
Ancestor Circle is open to everyone who shares our values. Each edition says who it is for, the language and how to take part.
What is shared in the circle stays in the circle. We ask everyone to participate with care, respect and consent.
Food, business and belonging.
The first Ancestor Circle, on 26 July 2026 in Zürich: a three-course Brazilian meal by chef Jane Maria da Silva, joining us from Brazil, and a conversation with her daughter Lys Silva, who hosted, organised and translated the afternoon.
