CONNECT

Connect is the foundation of Afro Swisssters. We create spaces — online and in person — where Afro-descendant women meet, exchange, and build meaningful relationships across cultures, generations, and geographies.

Through dialogue, creative experience, and shared presence, we strengthen community bonds and nurture a sense of belonging that transcends borders. Connect has three formats, each built for a different kind of gathering.

Every summer we gather in the vineyards of Lavaux, among the vines, to reflect and reconnect. Our 2025 edition featured Rachel M'Bon's Reflect & Rise campaign and brought together women shaping culture, business and art on their own terms. Intergenerational. Unscripted. Always memorable.

Cultural Experiences
HE.ART.BEAT& REMAIN

Djane Tina Marie at Shed Club Zug with AfroSwissters for Heartbeat
Jane Jaeggi and Mariette Thiel at Schauspielhaus Zürich

We attend cultural events together — theatre, cinema, art fairs, exhibitions, opera.
Afterwards, we stay and create space to reflect on what we’ve seen and felt. Different perspectives, honest conversations, shared experience.
This format is called REMAIN.

REMAIN

Schauspielhaus Zürich

A "more than a show" experience. Included a collective dinner, viewing of Pinar Karabulut’s Ein Sommernachtstraum, and an exclusive "after-space" talk with Dr. Yuvviki Dioh  to help shape the conversation.

REMAIN

Schauspielhaus Zürich

A curated cultural evening at Schauspielhaus Zürich bringing the AfroSwissters community together. We began with an intro to the Schauspielhaus Zürich (WHAT YOU’LL FIND) ON THE WAY TO BECOMING by Ta-Nia, followed by REMAIN — a moderated space to reflect, connect, and sit with what lingers.

REMAIN

Kunsthaus Zürich

The Kerry James Marshall event is a defining moment for the REMAIN series, specifically within the collaboration with Kunsthaus Zürich.

While it falls under the REMAIN x Kunsthaus Zürich x Zurich Art Weekend umbrella (scheduled for 14 June 2026), the focus is centered on Marshall’s significant presence in the museum and the broader context of Black visibility in Western art history.
