SPECTRUM is where we tell our own stories.
AfroSwissters’ blog and podcast for essays, interviews, reflections and conversations from people in our network, in Switzerland and across the wider diaspora. Here, we make room for the complexity of our lives — identity, belonging, womanhood, migration, work, ambition, art, memory, motherhood, friendship, faith, beauty, politics, rest, healing and the everyday realities of moving through Switzerland and the world.
SPECTRUM is not one voice. It is many voices, held in one space.
The SPECTRUM Blog — essays, reflections, cultural writing, stories from the network and opinion pieces written by AfroSwissters contributors.
The SPECTRUM Podcast — long-form conversations with women, creatives, professionals, thinkers, mothers, artists, builders and voices from our network on diaspora, identity and belonging in Switzerland and beyond.
Together, the blog and podcast create a public archive of thought, feeling and experience — in our own words.

We welcome pitches from anyone who wants to share stories, reflections, conversations or ideas under the AfroSwissters umbrella.
A written essay or reflection · a personal story · an interview · a cultural review · a podcast episode idea · a recurring podcast or blog format · a conversation · a live recording · an event or salon format connected to SPECTRUM · a storytelling project connected to Afro-diasporic identity, culture or belonging.
Bring your own format. SPECTRUM can become the home for selected formats led by people in our network that align with AfroSwissters’ mission and values. You do not need to have everything fully developed. A clear idea, honest intention and willingness to shape it together is enough to begin the conversation. Selected ideas may receive support with framing, visibility, access to our network, structure, event connection or publication under the AfroSwissters umbrella.
Send us a short email at contact@afroswissters.ch with your name, the format you are proposing, a short summary of the idea, why it matters, who it is for, whether it is written, audio, live or event-based, and what kind of support you are looking for. We review pitches with care and respond based on alignment, capacity and timing.
SPECTRUM values honesty, nuance and lived experience. We welcome personal writing and conversation, but we also care about consent, confidentiality, accuracy and responsibility. Stories involving other people should be shared with care. Sensitive experiences should not be turned into content without reflection and consent. We do not expect perfection. We do expect respect.
