About · Historic Launch

How it began — 2023.

AfroSwissters was founded in 2023 as a Swiss non-profit association in Zürich.

The launch

AfroSwissters officially launched on 24 June 2023 at Coin Coin Club in Zürich, an art café, wine bar and event space that reflected the creative spirit of the day.

Convened by Tallulah Patricia Bär, the full-day programme brought together Afro-Swiss women, women of African descent, artists, speakers and supporters around the four pillars that still guide AfroSwissters today: Connect, Heal, Grow and Thrive.

The launch included conversations, workshops, artistic contributions, food, music and space for people to meet across different backgrounds and life stages. More than a single event, it marked the beginning of AfroSwissters as a platform for connection, visibility, reflection and network-building in Switzerland.
