In the words of Frantz Fanon, "each generation must, out of relative obscurity, discover its mission, fulfill it, or betray it." AfroSwiss Spectrum is dedicated to fulfilling our mission of amplifying the voices of AfroSwissters and Black women in Switzerland.

We draw inspiration from the powerful words of Bell Hooks, who said, "all women and men have an equal need for love. When these needs are not met, we experience pain, which may range from mild to intense. We cannot survive without love." This is especially true in the post-slavery era, where rebuilding trust is critical to our community's growth and thriving.

We also take wisdom from Maya Angelou, who taught us the importance of trusting ourselves and each other. "I trust myself. You need that, to trust yourself enough to know that you can say what you believe," she said. We believe that by uniting and building strong bonds and relationships, we can empower each other to succeed in all aspects of life.

Oprah Winfrey reminds us that "excellence is the best deterrent to racism and sexism." By showcasing the excellence of our community through AfroSwiss Spectrum, we can break down barriers and create a more inclusive and empowered world.

We also draw inspiration from Michelle Obama, who said, "when they go low, we go high." Our community is built on a foundation of mutual respect and kindness, and we believe that by uplifting each other, we can create a brighter future for all.

An African proverb reminds us that "if you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together." At AfroSwiss Spectrum, we believe that by coming together as a community, we can build a brighter future for ourselves and for the generations to come.
